The temperatures are rising and so are the tempers during the Election campaign. The importance of exercising your right to vote can’t be stressed enough.  Its about the belief that your input can make a difference and even one vote can make a difference. So be prepared to stand in heat for hours to show for your country ‘kae aap garme mein kharab ho saktae hayen’.  Similarly, who you vote for is a tough question, make sure you have done your research about the parties and their manifesto. When thinking about who to vote for, remember while balloting it will be just you and the future of your country; forget who your parents support, forget who your family supports and forget who is in power position.  Vote for the leader who can take you out of this mess and lead you toa better future.

Once you cast your vote and feel like a proud Pakistani, pat yourself on the back and have this refreshing green drink.  Also, a great way to control those heated debates at your house; keep it cool and serve them this refreshing drink.

  • Lemon Juice (5 lemons)
  • 12 pieces of mint leaves (washed thoroughly)
  • Sugar 2 tbsp (if you have brown sugar, do use that. It tastes great with brown sugar!)
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Water – 3 glasses
  • Ice Cubes (add more than a glass of ice if you want it really icy)
  • Number of servings (yield) : 4

  • Put all of these ingredients in a blender and blend it till the leaves are very very fine. You don’t want your guests to take chunks of mint leaves out of their mouth!
  • Next is to taste the drink and adjust.

Ask yourself

  • Is is sweet enough?
  • Is it a little salty?
  • Can you taste the lemon?
  • Can you taste the mint flavor?

Adjust accordingly. A great drink to serve this Election 2013
