Zubaida is one of the first among the  women from LettuceBe Kids. that volunteered to contribute her recipes for us. As she gave us the recipe for daal mash she told us how she comes from a Pathan family that migrated to Pakistan from Afghanistan during the Soviet war. Her family has long since been settled in the slums near F-11 Markaz. A bunch of kids from her family attend the LettuceBe Kids school for unprivileged children in the vicinity. She also sows clothes in her free time.  She has a passion for cooking  and prepares three meals a day for her large family. She mentions animatedly how everyone at their house including the elderly folk love food.
