Chefling-in-Chief

I am Madiha- a digital marketing professional by day and an amateur cook by mood!

For some its pressing clothes, for others reading books but for me its always been cooking good food that would help me feel calm and make me happy. My cooking style is all about quick and simple recipes. I believe in tasting food while cooking and adjusting it to my palate. I believe a good palate is the real key to making great food!

I have also done numerous cooking shows, infront of an  imaginary audience and imaginary camera in my kitchen since i was 13 years old.   I have learnt Pakistani Cuisine from my mother and mother-in-law, Italian and Chinese through TV shows and internet. Thai cuisine from a cooking school in Bangkok and little bit about Japanese food from a Japanese friend.  I am not a baking person but i make some quick desserts as well. I am also truly inspired by Chefs like Kaukab Khuwaja, Chef Mehboob and international chefs Jamie Oliver like.

All the recipes I will share are what i have cooked a number of times at home and these recipes have earned praise from my family and friends. I will be highlighting the issues a newbie would face while exploring their cooking skills.

Through this blog, I want to not only make my cooking experience more worth while but also, I want to introduce to the world what Pakistani Cuisine and more importantly the regional cuisines is all about. Also, I plan to get hold of recipes that are unique to each families. This online medium is a great way to document the family treasured recipes; the ones only our grandmothers or mothers made. I have and will always welcome cheflings from across the globe to make this a medium to document their traditional recipes.

I also do a regular column as a food writer for Express Tribune Magazine. http://tribune.com.pk/author/3517/madiha-hamid/
